"I got injured in tsunami. My mother and my elder brother were killed.I was displaced from Myilitty in 1990, and went to Nagar Kovil. Then went to Vanni through Kilali. I got injured on my spine,in an attack in 1995 while going to Vanni.I lived in vanni till 2002.My wife died of mouth cancer in Vanni. After the main Jaffna- Kandy A9 highway was opened,I came back to Point Pedro.But still I can't go back to my birth place and I want to die there. I have nobody to care for me" says 54 years old fisherman Kandasamy Sivalingam.

"I have diabetics. Nobody is here to look after me.I lost everything in tsunami" says 38 years old Kandasamy Vellimayil.

"We lost everything in tsunami. My seven year old daughter got injured on her chest. She is still being teated.My husband is a fisherman. He has no job now. I have five children to take care. How can I live in a temporary shelter for a longer period like this? It's very hot.I can't go back to my dowry home, which is in Myilitty" says 38 years old Vallimayil Veeravadivel.

"I earn Rs.125 per item, which I exchange with the used clothes. I came from Colombo to do business in Jaffna. I have been doing it for the past three years. I go to Colombo to buy the goods.If the current situation improves, more people will come to Jaffna to do business" says 49 years old Mohamed Sulaiman Mohamed Faizer, who does business in Point Pedro in Jaffna district, North of Sri Lanka.

There are only 25 houses here, and there are 4o families living here. Others are living with their relatives and friends, because it's over crowded.
